An advisor recently shared with me that he believes “advisors should focus on their business and clients in the moment and when they are ready to retire not worry about what they can sell the business for.“ I politely shared that their ideation was flawed. In my thinking hanging onto assets is a lot easier than gathering new assets. Succession planning is necessary for the advisor, their staffs, and the client. What does your succession plan look like?
