AML is on the 2024 SEC & FINRA greatest hits list, and in 2024 FINCEN implemented beneficial ownership reporting requirements for corporations. If you were going to design an AML tool for the next 10 years, what would be includedand why? How would you plan to deploy and use the tools, and in what capacity? Where are your strengths? Where are your weaknesses?   If the industry expands AML monitoring footprints to continuous or periodic measurement, includes beneficiaries, or other third parties, would you look at things differently? What do you wish you had and how do you go about getting it?

WSPs come under scrutiny and annually we see actions against firms based on gaps among regulations, WSPs and actual practice alignment. Ongoing maintenance and management of WSPs can be a challenge. Aligning WSPs to your business practices is an art for most firms. Direct alignment to data can be difficult. So, how do you take the WSPs, that are your firm’s guardrails and give them life and breath and ensure that they evolve with the firm and regulations? What makes sense in the housing, review, and ongoing maintenance of WSPs?  What steps can/should you take to better align data gathered in your operational processes and technology stack be better aligned to your WSPs? What does the ideal WSP repository and infrastructure framework look like to you and how do you implement it?  How do you govern it to stay aligned?
